We do our best to prevent the spread of germs here and teach your children healthful practices. You can promote healthy practices at home, such as using a tissue, covering coughs and sneezes, and washing hands often! Encourage your child to wash his/her hands after using the bathroom, after using a tissue, and before and after eating.
November brings with it many seasonal and holiday family traditions! We would love for you to share a holiday or seasonal tradition with our class. If there is a traditional food, song, dance, craft, or game you play, please share it with us!
To celebrate each child and his/her family, we are also creating a family bulletin board in the classroom. For this, we would appreciate if you would bring in several pictures of your child and his/her family members.
Consistent mealtimes with family are a great time for promoting important development and skills, especially social/emotional and language development! You can build a stronger relationship with your child and encourage social/emotional and language skills at mealtimes. When you pay attention to your child and encourage communication, you build a strong relationship and give them a positive view about themselves. Use the time to ask your child about his/her day and talk about new words and ideas. Help your child build conversational skills by asking for details and offering your own thoughts.
Dates to Remember:
· Thanksgiving break, Nov. 25 – Nov. 29
· Winter break, Dec. 23 – Dec. 30
Last month we learned many new things! Our units included “Food” and “Fall”. We learned new vocabulary with fruits and vegetables, explored real pumpkins and gourds, and learned about seasonal changes through stories and activities. We worked on sorting objects and telling when things are the same and different.
This month our language units include: “Brown Bear, Brown Bear” and “Colors”. With these units, we will be focusing on many skills, including naming colors, matching, and identifying patterns and rhythms.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us! As always, if you have questions/comments regarding the program or your child’s plan, please feel free to call us at 882-0228 between 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM.
