Developmental Preschool Newsletter
Autumn is here!
The weather is changing, and so are the leaves. It’s starting to get cold! We will try to play outside as much as the weather will allow us, so please remember to send your child to school with a warm coat and proper footwear. We love playing outside!
Getting to Know You
As we continue to get to know your little ones, we’d love a chance to get to know you more too! If you have a talent, interest, story etc. that you would enjoy sharing with our class, we would love to have you. Please send a note, call or talk with LeAnna if you would like to share with us. As always, parents are always welcome to stay and play. Also, we would like to have every child’s family photo on our family board. If you have not done so, we invite you to bring in a photo of your family to brighten up our class (it doesn’t have to be a professional photo). We know how important our preschoolers’ families are!
Yellow Folders
Yellow folders will come home every Tuesday and Wednesday with information, newsletters and school papers. Please take a moment to go through this information, leave comments on the provided sheet if needed, and send them back the following school day.
Cold Season
With our changing weather, there’s always the ever-increasing risk of getting sick—especially with little ones. We appreciate the phone calls regarding your child’s illness and absence from preschool. We’re trying to keep hands and noses clean in the classroom, so we ask that you continue to help your child wash their hands when they arrive at preschool before playing with toys. This has helped keep the germs down so much!
Our Curriculum
Each week, we will be sending home our Activity Schedule which will let you know what activities, games, toys, songs and snacks will be part of your child’s day. This is a good tool for parents to use talk to their little ones about their day! Also, our practicum student Catie Kotmel will be doing her lead teaching weeks from Oct 2-12, so you may see her interacting more with you and your children this week!
Preschool Start Time
This is a gentle reminder that Preschool begins at 8:30, and no earlier. While we have one child who arrives early because of special bussing, we will start keeping the doors locked until 8:30 AM every morning. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us!
